  • Older adults are at higher risk for suicide.

They often suffer silently from depression, isolation and feelings of hopelessness, and are more likely to use lethal means to take their own life.

  • Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training is like CPR for mental health. It is an evidence-based training that empowers anyone to recognize the warning signs of suicide, ask the right questions, and connect someone to life-saving help.
  • By attending this training, you will learn how to:
    • Recognize the warning signs specific to older adults.
    • Approach someone with compassion and confidence.
    • Make a referral to mental health services that can help.

Ideal target audience for this training: Executive directors and front-line staff of senior centers, residential facilities and other agencies who provide services for older adult populations. Caregivers of older adults and any other interested participants are also welcome!
