United Way SCC hosted its Annual Meeting May 15th in Kennett Square. The meeting was well attended by agency partners, Board Members, donors, and community members for the anticipated allocation announcement. UWSCC is investing $750,000 in 28 programs provided by 21 nonprofit agencies to meet critical needs in our community. CEO Terry Vodery welcomed guests and Board President Matt Decker called the meeting to order. Outgoing Board members Dave Halm, Matt Decker, and Karen Grieg were recognized for their years of service on the volunteer board. And, Joan Holliday was honored as UWSCC Volunteer of the Year; Yakquelin Garduño from Mighty Writers shared the impact UWSCC donors have on their programming; and guests connected with old friends and met new ones. The evening was a wonderful demonstration of the profound impact the Southern Chester County community has in meeting the critical needs of its neighbors.
